The Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota Reservation
in South Dakota Respectfully Requests

HELP!

Winter will be here before you know it, and we are trying to renovate a building to house two or three homeless elderly veterans and to serve as an activity center for all of the elderly on the Sisseton-Wahpeton Reservation.

This building will be so

appreciated as a gathering

place, a place to teach the

young ones the traditions,

and to provide a place for the

elders to share in daily

activities such as sewing

quilts and blankets with

machines provided by

Changing Winds and their

loyal donors.

Funds or help with providing

a NEW ROOF are needed

immediately,  after which the

other work will be able to

progress.

The building is about 40 x 70. The roof trusses are in good shape and are made of redwood. The roof is leaking and has caused parts of the ceiling to collapse. The floor is concrete and is not warped.

Lets get these veterans indoors before the weather turns cold,

only a few months from now!

Contact Changing Winds at 203-256-9720 for more information about how you can

help.

"Actually this project doesn't look that expensive... They said if necessary I could hook into the water line from their house which is next to it.. I think one picture shows the close proximity of the house...

They're eager to get started and was wondering if their would be anything for this winter so the elderly have something to do for this winter..."
