We have many ways that you can become personally involved in the work that we do. We accept your time as a donation, and if you can build or teach or contribute in any number of ways, you can use the time you spend with us as a tax deduction. For starters, check out these sections on our site: BUILDING LIBRARIES: Besides schools, which do not provide culturally appropriate materials, there are NO PUBLIC LIBRARIES on the reservations! The children have a right to see their own ways and history properly represented. Buy a book, movie or dvd! Click here for information on needed materials. Approved Materials :
BUILDING REPAIR: We are going to participate in rebuilding the Boys and Girls Club on one of the reservations. Bring your skills and/or enthusiasm, and lets rebuild for the children! Our Dream is to provide a library and media center! How can YOU help us achieve that? Call us at 203-256-9720 or email CWAdvocacyCenter@aol.com for more information! TEACHING CLASSES: Do you have a skill that can be taught in one week, that will enable the people to remain on their land but pursue work from outside sources? We are looking for artists, webmasters, journalists, music teachers, craftsmen, automotive repair, carpentry, plumbing and more ... YOU TELL US YOUR SKILL! If you want to teach a one week course let us know. Call us at 203-256-9720 or email CWAdvocacyCenter@aol.com for more information! ANNUAL CLOTHING DRIVE: For the past four years, we have provided warm clothing to children on the reservations. We will continue this work all year long. Click here for information on where you can send clothing. SEPTEMBER SCHOOL SUPPLY COLLECTION: We will be collecting school supplies every September which can be sent to any one of the reservations listed in the Clothing Drive section. We are also looking for people who want to participate by becoming Depots or Drop Off points for new clothing and school supplies within your community. You collect it, we will ship it for you! Undergraduate
and Graduate Internships Available. Have
another idea? We are happy to listen! |
