Volunteer and Service Opportunities

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."- Mahatma Gandhi

Changing Winds is happy to help your organization join in
community service type work on the Reservations.

We have opportunities available for:
Eagle Scout Projects
Church Youth Groups
Family Service Projects
Camping and Cultural Enrichment Activities

All that we have been able to accomplish has been through the volunteer efforts
of those who came forward and asked how they could help.

We will happily arrange for your groups to visit the Reservations to assist
with the repair of buildings and engage in cultural exchange programs
or
they can develop drives for food or back to school items
including backpacks, notebooks, etc. in your own local areas.

If you have an idea for a service project, call us and we will help you make it come true!

Come to South Dakota and learn about the beauty of the Lakota ways and cultures
and share in the connection between all peoples.

CRAZY HORSE (His Horse Is Enchanted) 1877 said this smoking a pipe with Sitting Bull 4 days before his assassination. "Upon suffering beyond suffering: the Red Nation shall rise again and it shall be a blessing for a sick world. A world filled with broken promises, selfishness and separations. A world longing for light again. I see a time of Seven Generations when all the colors of mankind will gather under the Sacred Tree of Life and the whole Earth will become one circle again. In that day, there will be those among the Lakota who will carry knowledge and understanding of unity among all living things and the young white ones will come to those of my people and ask for this wisdom. I salute the light within your eyes where the whole Universe dwells. For when you are at that center within you and I am that place within me, we shall be one."
